Filleigh’s batting ran out of steam at Ipplepen, where chasing 299 to win proved too many.
Mawgan Penrice (88) and Tom Dyer (80) put on 138 for the third wicket in Ipplepen’s total of 298 for five.
The innings was bookended by knocks of 30 from opener Dave Harris and 33 not out by Ashley Harvey.
Connor Nash (0-33) was the only Filleigh bowler to go for fewer than five an over. Most of the rest were in six-an-over or more territory.
Filleigh were in a promising place at 186 for four with Jas Kalsi (43) and Harley Ashdown (32) contributing then Jack Brazier taking up the chase.
Brazier (70) had no support after losing Nash for 25 and the last five wickets went for 14 as Filleigh tumbled to an 80-run defeat with more than 12 overs unbowled.
Johnny Norman (3-48) and Ash Harvey (3-53) were Pens’ leading wicket baggers.
Filleigh will be looking to bounce back against visiting Thorverton this Saturday
