Sixteen members of the North Devon tri club braved the Ironman UK 70.3 Wimbleball event, world renowned for it’s tough and hilly bike course.

The day started with a mass of more than 1,500 triathletes thrashing it out in the 1.2 mile swim. Next came the bike ride, 56 miles and over 5,000ft of climbing, before culminating in an off road half marathon.

All the club members put in outstanding performances, Chris Stone was first home for the club, despite back problems for much of the bike ride and all of the run. He finished 73rd overall and fifth in the men's 45-49 years category.

Rose Terribile and Sue White did their bit for the girls, both coming home second in their age groups.
