Owen and Cunningham show what they can do at Torrington

Two in-form Bideford Boxing Club prospects continued their winning ways at a show in Torrington over the weekend.

Ben Owen was well matched in his bout against Alex Jones of Tiverton, who was coming into the fight in fine form after beating Barnstaple's Liam Laird.

Jones edged the first in a tactical affair but in the second Owen began drawing the lead and scoring with straight punches.

In the last they stood in the middle of the ring and dug in with big shots, Owen proving the stronger to win on points.

Callum Cunningham continued his education with a very mature performance of all-round ability.

He boxed Tyler Dyer of Devonport, a tall opponent coming into the fight undefeated.

But Callum put on a display of good shots and footwork to frustrate his opponent, for a unanimous points win.

There are still tickets available for the boxing show at Durrant House Hotel, Northam, on November 20 - call 07841 846552.
