Carol Anne Diamonds netball team entered the regional league pre-season Fast-Net tournament in Plymouth at the weekend.

Although they were the only Division 2 team in a tournament open to all teams in the top two divisions of the regional league, they more than held their own and finished second overall.

They went out all guns blazing, opening with a victory over Plymouth Marjons

Next came Hucclecote who finished towards the top of Division 1 last season, resulting in a 33-24 defeat for the Diamonds. But they fought back again to maintain the lead throughout in a victory over Plymouth Pilgrims and went on to also edge victory against both Exeter and Team Bath

Alyssia Hayler was the player of the tournament following some superb two and four point shots at crucial times and great movement and timing on court.

TITANS Apollo started their North Devon Netball League campaign with a great 56-9 win against newly promoted Venners Bakery Cobras and Titans Neptune were also victorious against Pat Williams Girls.
