Winners confirmed as summer season draws to a close

Carol Anne Diamonds secured the division one title in convincing fashion. Meredith Hoskin and Frankie Penfold were influential in defence for Sapphires and when they faced Venners Bakery Vipers they took an early lead. Unfortunately Vipers found their stride and pulled clear in the second half. Emily Risden was Neptune's top player but she couldn't do enough to overcome Diamonds and Vipers.

The final quarter of the last match determined the positions in division two and it was Venners Bakery Cobras who came out on top. Accurate shooting by Grace Beal enabled them to rapidly increase their points in the last few minutes to defeat Bude Stars. Bude were in contention for three quarters owing to great movement and shooting by Victoria Urquhart. Woolacombe Bay turned the tables on Blue Oasis to finish one point ahead as Runners-Up.

In division three, Carol Anne Emeralds defeated Titans Pluto with a goal in the last few seconds moving them up to Runners-Up behind Frank Heard's Heffers.

Division four was won by Panthers, and Titans Jupiter won both of their matches to take the Runners-Up position.

Bude Rockets and Georgeham Rocks finished on a high taking first and second respectively in division six. Hartland Harriers pushed both teams all the way but Bude and Georgeham were strong enough to maintain their leads and win the trophies.

The winter league will start in September with a pre-season tournament on Sunday September 1 at Park School. All teams are welcome. Contact Katrina Venner (Chairman) for further information -
