With only one week of matches left there is still uncertainty over the trophy positions in most of the divisions with many teams in with a chance. Carol Anne Diamonds defeated Titans Apollo by four points once again in the top division with a four-pointer late in the game. After losing to Neptune in their first match of the summer season they have stepped up a gear to put one hand on the trophy. They face Neptune next week to hopefully secure the title. Titans Apollo bounced back to edge past Venners Vipers. The match was close throughout and although Vipers had a penalty outside the D as the whistle blew they could not convert it ensuring a two point win for Apollo. Blue Oasis moved up the table in division two and are now level on points with Venners Cobras after beating them and the other title contenders, Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks. Emily Bray backed up the play in attack and was dominant in defence in both matches. Woolacombe won their other match to ensure they could still lift the trophy. Bude Stars could not match their recent results despite great play by Becca Cuthbertson and Naomi Black. Titans Voyager finished their season with a victory over Cobras and an extremely close match against Pat Williams. The score was level but Pat Williams netted a two-pointer on the final whistle to take the points. In division three, Frank Heards Heffers finished their season in style completing an unbeaten season with Ali Weller and Jo Johnstone taking the player plaudits. Titans Pluto just stole the points from Langtree Re-Unites Rogues winning 14-13. Lucy Burnett was superb in attack giving her team the winning edge. Rosie Polak was on form for Carol Anne Topaz but unfortunately they could not secure a win having moved up to this division. The matches in division five were completed this week and only 16 points separate all six teams with mixed results between many teams. Bude Satellites had done enough to win the division with North Devon Homes finishing as runners-up. Venners Bakery Misfits won both of their matches to move up to third place. Venners Bakery Pythons defeated Carol Anne Jets thanks to great defending by Helen Bye. Charlotte Buttery and Kirsty Short worked well together for Jets but they could not quite win the points. North Devon Homes also defeated them but by a smaller margin. Mary Rostock won crucial interceptions and rebounds to push Homes ahead. In division six, Georgeham Rocks took two victories, including a win over leaders North Devon Homes Stars to put them in contention for the title. Gaters Girls and Carol Anne Opals could not be separated and both experienced a close second match. Gaters narrowly lost to NDH Stars, while Opals beat Hartland Harriers by one goal. Harriers were victorious against CPB Navigators with Naila Rana and Laura Kiff recognised for the outstanding play.
