The cup, which was won by Great Britain in November last year, was on display on Sunday.

More than 600 people visited Atlantic Racquet Centre on Sunday for a glimpse of the Davis Cup.

The Bideford club held a day of tennis activities to celebrate the occasion, and were joined by local mayors, Torridge district councillors and representatives from other local clubs.

Assistance on the day was provided by Bideford's scouts and sea cadets.

Middleweight boxer Tommy Langford and Plymouth Argyle's Gary Sawyer were in attendance.

The two showed off their skills alongside Bideford striker Sean Downing and ex-GB table tennis player Chris Brown.

The club also had a competition for the fastest serve, with Ryan Andrews and under 16 Kieran Rattigan both clocking serves of 110mph.

Evie Norris-Bishop won the U9 cateogry with a serve of 56 mpy.

Entertainment at the event was provided by Bideford Town Band, Devon Teachers Rock Choie, Chaos Theory and Rachel Woolmer.

Great Britain won last year's Davis Cup, beating Belgium in the final in November.
