AN East-the-Water cricketer is the first North Devon player to be selected to play for the full Devon cricket team so far this year.Dan Bowser, 21, played for the county against a strong Exeter University side, his fifth wicket stand of 64 with Sandy Allen helping them to victory.The appearance for Devon has marked a busy start to the new cricket season for Dan.Having broken the Devon under-21 bowling record last year, he was asked by Somerset's head coach Andy Hurry to bowl against the first team squad over four weeks to help them improve their one day performances.While he is hoping to play some more 2nd XI games for first class counties this year in his quest to become a professional cricketer, Dan opened the batting for North Devon on Saturday when they started their Devon Premier league programme against Plympton.
