ILFRACOMBE Carnival Evening Criterium is a new town centre cycle race

which will take place an hour before the carnival procession tomorrow (Thursday) night.

It has attracted the top riders in North Devon, including from the three major teams North Devon Wheelers, Southfork racing team and Revo Racing. The race is a British cycling event and will attract ranking points for the riders, so some fast and exciting racing is expected.

The winter months of planning involving North Devon Wheelers Cycling Club and Ilfracombe Carnival Committee has bought about this exciting new event.

The race involves one mile laps around the High Street and seafront with the tough climb up Sommers Crescent being tackled every lap.

It starts at 6.45pm and riders will race for 50 minutes, plus three laps, giving around one hours of racing.
