Smithson started well, chucking combinations from the opening bell. Gallienne settled into it into the second round, pushing Smithson back, rocking him on several occasions with big right crosses levelling it up going into the last round. Smithson started fast again in the last, but Gallienne showed great defence, taking the shots on his gloves and firing back with clean shots. It was a big left hook counter from Gallienne that rocked Smithson; Gallienne stepped in on his opponent, rallying away with combinations as the final bell rang. But Smithson won on the tightest of split decisions in an entertaining contest. Bidefords Brad Richards put in a solid performance to pick up a unanimous points decision in his bout against Plymouth Intense ABCs Brandon Dixon in the senior light-welterweight division. And James Dearson had to dig deep to gain his win against Reece Mosely from Paignton ABC. Stuart Allin is soon becoming a favourite with the North Devon spectators. Following a cracking debut contest with Liam Hawkins, Allin delivered a fight-of-the-night performance against Jordan Wheeler from Ilfracombe ABC. Allin finished the stronger of the two, but a slow start cost him as he lost on a split decision. Jacob Stevenson had to work hard for his victory against hard-hitting opponent Shane Miller from Port Talbot Bulldogs. Lewis Cornish dominated for three rounds, showing plenty of potential against Callum Fisher from Devizes ABC in a skills contest. Hayden Harris got better as his skills contest went on, showing a strong jab against Ocean Grant from Paignton ABC.
