A CHILL morning greeted early arrivals for Torrington AAC's Christmas Caper, but did not deter the runners as a record 230 lined up for the arduous event.Entrants from near and far turned up to tackle 10 miles of mud, bogs, rivers, inundated fields, forests and the ubiquitous Torrington hills, all in the name of fun!Runners bedecked in Santa hats, Christmas fairies and TAAC's own hi-speed Christmas trees all vied for placings in this years' race. Leading almost from the outset, Tim Watson of Belgrave Harriers took command to complete the course in a record 60.59, an astounding feat of near six-minute miling over an incredibly hard course. Helen Parkinson of Torbay took first ladies position in an equally amazing 70.54 minutes.
