MOST matches in the North Devon Table Tennis League this week were won in convincing fashion, in fact the first division has yet to register a draw.
Adjudicators move within two points of Division 1 leaders Torrington A after beating them 7-3, Paul Laverty and Simon Fellowes both strong against the league leaders in both doubles and singles.
Smugglers are beginning to join the fray at the top after their heavy victory over Holsworthy A.
Division 2 Hopefuls are now the only unbeaten team in the league and recorded another big win at the expense of Torrington B. Len Weston was unbeaten but was taken close by a spirited Ellis Ellington.
Dolphins and Littleham results have swung to and fro over recent years, fielding largely unchanged squads. But this year Derek Preston and Alan Pemberton secured a convincing win for the Instow team.
Untouchables were unable to arrest the progress of Bandits, Jorg Gawrisch and Mike Hill scoring the team’s first ever trebles as they move into third place.
Torrington B played for the second time in a week and picked up three good points against Hartland, but were unable to contain Malcolm Overson. The youngsters of Torrington are improving match by match.
