Ilfracombe extended their lead at the top of the Devon Two table by beating Torrington 10-0 - their fourth league win in as many games.

It was a battle of defences in North Devon and ultimately it was the visitors who came out on top and only then because of an interception.

Darren Light was the man who grabbed that opportunity to score midway through the first half. Dan Brierley converted and added to the lead shortly afterwards through a penalty.

In poor conditions both sides were particularly strong defensively, Ilfracombe in particular as they held off a Torrington side determined to get back into the game.

Ilfracombe held out and moved four points clear at the top. They play Salcombe at home this Saturday.

Torrington are on the road to Dartmouth.
