All three Bideford Rifle Club teams won their Round 3 matches in the National 50-metres League and are gradually improving their placings in the league.

The A team had a 10 point win over Colchester A, helped by a maximum 100 from Martin Morgan, and they are now in fourth place in Division 3.

The B team had an easy win over Appleton F and now lie second in Division 10, while the C team beat Darlington B by just 5 points and are in third place in Division 16.

Bideford A 1,930, Colchester A 1,920; Bideford B 1902 beat Appleton F 1879; Bideford C 1,803 beat Darlington RA B 1,796.

In the national Polar Bear League, eight members won their Round 5 matches and two of the four teams were also successful.

Adie Pile now leads Division 5 with an unbeaten record. Simon Dafforn has lost one match, but still tops Division 8; Yvonne Hoile has also lost just one match and is second in Division 10; George Turnbull has drawn one of his matches and leads Division 21; and Sarah Pile is third in Division 22, with her aggregate score the best in the division.

The A and C teams lie in third places in Division 2 and 5 respectively.
