THINKING about starting motorcycle trials? Torridge and District Motorcycle Club is holding a special event for beginners at Lower Wembsworthy Farm, Hartland, this Sunday.It will feature a special easy route and is one of a series being planned, with three other similar trials throughout the year.You can enter on the day, join the club and fill in an application form for the ACU licence. For further details contact John Luckett on (01237) 441611.John and his wife Brenda also offer a trials school on their farm, utilising 20 acres of woodland with gullies, streams and climbs. They have been running this for 16 years and it will this year take place on August 9 and 10.Nine top South West riders are among those who train there, including Joe Baker from Lynton. The school caters for around 65 riders of all ages and in classes according to capabilities.It includes a Friday evening barbecue with live band, when money is raised for the charity CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young.More details from John or on the website www.bikersrest.com.
