Braunton are hovering above the C Division East bottom three after a 32-run defeat at home to Ottery.
Opener Oliver West was the anchorman for Ottery, batting on and on to make 105 in a total of 258 for nine.
West put on 125 for the first wicket with Alex Clements (52) and another 49 for the third with Henry Mutter (28).
Martin Smith (4-44) got West out at 206 for three. Wickets tumbled in the scramble for runs in the latter overs.
Braunton set off in pursuit with Jon Baglow (25), Mike Brown (58) and Rob Paterson (29) instrumental in reaching 142 for four.
Callum Mitchell (39) and Smith (34) added another 57, but the clock was ticking and Braunton weren’t keeping up with it.
Ottery’s front line bowlers kept it tight - none tighter than Joe Birch (0-30 off 9) - but it was the change bowlers who made the breakthroughs.
Sam Brook (2-32) took out the openers and Jack Malden (3-19) accounted for Mitchell and Smith as Braunton slowed to 226 for eight.
