BRAUNTON slipped to a second successive defeat in the A Division when they went down by 73 runs at Chudleigh.Chudleigh skipper Derek Perry has hardly failed all season and carried on in the same style with top score of 67. Ed Foreman chipped in with 30 and Braunton helped out with 27 extras.Andy Paddison (3-41) more than shaded the bowling honours from Mark Mitchell (3-71).Braunton didn't really collapse as they never really got going in the first place.Ted Cumming (28) made early runs, Jon Baglow (21) made a few in the middle as from 67 for six the visitors declined to 133. Graeme Wilson picked up five for 32 to speed Chudleigh to victory. Perry chipped in with two wickets.Braunton 1st XI are away to Brixham this Saturday.l BRAUNTON 2nd XI moved two places further away from the C Division basement thanks to a five-wicket win over Whitchurch.Skipper Chris Brigden (3-20) and Jack Spice33r (4-42) combined to bowl Whitchurch out for 118.Jody Abbot fired an unbeaten 51 to see Braunton to victory.Braunton are now 10 points clear of the drop zone. A win over Ottery this Saturday, one of the sides in the bottom two, will push Brigden's side closer to safety.
