EIGHT members of the Bideford Bombers were among 878 riders at the annual British BMX championships held at Cheddar at the weekend.

On the opening day Brian Jury raced in the 17-24yrs category and managed to make it through to the semi-finals and gain eighth place.

Clubmate Justin Gatting raced in the 30-35 yrs and also made it through to the semi- finals, but unfortunately wiped out and pulled seventh place.

More Bombers took part in racing the next day.

Michael Smart made it through to the finals of the 25-29 yrs class, but mis-timed the gate and gained 8th.

Other placings were: Will Nethacott 15 yrs quarter finals 8th; Tom Searles 14 yrs quarter finals 7th; Harrison Pascoe White 8 yrs quarter finals 8th; Dan Jury 16 yrs 29th; Sam Hommel 25-29 yrs just missed out on the quarter finals and gained 9th; Brian Jury 17-24 yrs quarter finals 6th; Chris Pascoe White raced Masters and just missed out on the semi finals to gain 5th place. The Bideford team meet again on October 9th in Wales for the South West championships.
