The penultimate regatta of the 2009 West of England Amateur Rowing Association's season at Dartmouth brought victory for Bideford Blues' Veteran C crew in their first regatta of the season.

Colin Pennington, Dave Byrnes, Nigel Cann and Neil Pennington, with Chris Daniel as coxswain, came home first to show the youngsters how it should be done.

Half-an-hour later Dave Byrnes was a winner again in the men's Veteran Single Sculls.

Younger members of the club also put in a good performance, with second place for the men's Under 18 Fours crew of Tom Loka, Tom Carlyon, Milo George and Tom Pugsley, with Chris Daniel again as cox, behind the unbeaten and WEARA championship-winning crew of Dart-Totnes.
