Bideford Amateur Athletic Club has celebrated having four current World and European champions as members of the club.

It's quite an achievement for any club, let alone one the size of the Blues.

Blues members have been accruing the titles throughout the year, travelling all over the world to compete in top-class competitions.

Steve Davies became a world champion in the cyclo-cross masters 55 category in January, when he returned from Switzerland with the crown.

Current British record holder Dave Byrnes retained his European indoor rowing 50+ lightweight title, while. Alastair Peake won the 40-49 lightweight category at the same championships.

John Shapland competed in the World Masters Athletic Championships in Budapest, Hungary, where he won the eight-kilometre cross country individual gold medal and Great Britain team gold medal. He also secured the silver in the half marathon.
