In the last open meeting of the summer season, Bideford Rifle Club members again made their mark at at Long Ashton Rifle Club near Bristol.

Best performance came from Alex Raymont, shooting in B Class for the first time, and winning it by the narrowest of margins. His score of 763 out of a possible 800 was tied with a shooter from Minehead, but Alex won on count-back, with a better score at 100 yards.

Other successes came from Ann Travis, who won the ladies’ and came second in the veterans’ classes with 770; Martin Morgan, who was third in Class X with 774; Pete Thomson, who was third in the veterans’ with 768; Naomi Ayre, who came third in Class C with 711; and Ann Travis and Martin Morgan, who won the pairs competition.
