ANOTHER good round has put all three Bideford Rifle Club teams at the top of their divisions in the North Devon League.Bideford A beat Pinhoe A 391-388 to go five points clear at the top of Division 1.Bideford B were 381-367 winners against Fonthill B to go level top in Division 2 with Tiverton B while the Bideford C team crept ahead of previous leaders Okehampton C by a single point following their 374-361.3 success against Bogey.John Hutchings is tied for the lead in the individual competition, with Martin Morgan in third place. Ann Travis looks assured of the women's title and is second in the veterans, with Pete Thomson just behind.They have also enjoyed success in the Devon County Winter league, making up ground after a slow start with only one defeat in their last six matches.The C team is in the strongest position, in fifth place after 12 rounds after a 467-460 win over Tiverton B and a 467-465 victory over Budleigh TSC C.The A team beat Tiverton A 490-484, but lost to Budeligh TSC A 485-489 and are now in eighth place in their division.Bideford B are also in eighth place following wins against Pinhoe B 486-478 and Bogey 484-481.Ross Prior has extended his lead in the junior individual championship and Ann Travis is third in the women's table.The good form continued in the National Short Range League with wins for both the A and B teams.The B team beat Leek B 478-468 and are currently top of their division at the half-way stage. John Hutchings' maximum 100 made all the difference as the A team had a close win over Kynoch A 485-484.
