BIDEFORD gave Okehampton a scare before going down to a 26-18 defeat which dealt a blow to their Cornwall & Devon promotion chances.Okehampton raced into a 21-3 half time lead by making good use of their wind at their backs to pen Bideford in their own half.Bideford employed similar tactics in the second half to slash the leeway to 21-18. A late push-over try made the game safe for Okehampton.Centre Alex Dennis dodged Bideford tacklers to score Okes' first try. Joe Bruce darted over from the back of a ruck for the second and Simon Cox dummied in under the posts for the third.Luke Honeychurch converted all three first-half tries scored by Okehampton. Chris Snell landed a penalty for the home side.The second half was a different tale as Simon Bright got Biddy back in it with a pick-and-drive score. Snell converted.A backs' try run in by Luke Brown, and a Snell penalty, left just three points in it.Okehampton made certain of victory when No.8 Steve Alford claimed a push-over 10 minutes from time.
