BIDEFORD march on at the top of the Cornwall & Devon table following a 32-5 win over Hayle.

Hayle were careless looking after the ball and with bonus possession to work with Bideford’s backs cashed in. By half time Bideford were only 13-0 up, but they shot clear in the second half.

Full-back Richard Allen and wing Sam Olde scored two tries each. Chris Snell bagged a single and there were two conversions and a penalty for Ollie Wickett.

Bideford make the short trip to Torrington this Saturday. Torrington were beaten 22-17 at Totnes, which seems a bit careless on their part as they were 17-6 up after 20 minutes. Tries by Scott Hoyle and Mike Wigley, plus both conversions and a penalty from Andy Manning, had Torrie in the driving seat. By half time Totnes were back to 17-12 and they moved ahead on the hour mark. Torrie attacked for all they were worth in the last 10 minutes, but the Totnes defence kept them out. Bideford U12s continue to improve, winning 19-0 at home to Okehampton. Try scorers were Jordan Brent and Jack Willes (2) with Chris Wonnacott and Alfie Constable getting a conversion each. Keelan Doncaster made an impressive debut at No.8.
