THE annual Bideford Fishing Festival takes place this weekend as sea anglers set out to scour the coastline for specimen fish.

Fishing is on both Saturday and Sunday, with limits set between from Towan Head in Cornwall and Bean Down in Somerset.

There is a £500 prize fund and competitors can sign in at Bideford Angling Club in Honestone Street from 7-8.30pm on Friday night and from 7-10pm on Saturday.

Fishing is for the best specimen on each day and overall best specimen for the festival. Weigh in will take place at the club house on Saturday and Sunday at 8pm.

Entry is £10 per day or £15 for the whole weekend. There is an optional species pool of £2 per pool plus junior prizes.

A disco and prize draw will take place at the clubhouse after the Sunday weigh.
