Bideford ABC’s Aiden Vitali has booked his place in the national junior development final.
He travelled to Eastbourne to face Kyle Potter of Patricks Boxing Club in his semi-final, but the bout lasted only 40 seconds as his strength again proved too much for his opponent.
It was a barrage of punches that forced the first count and a big right uppercut that forced the technical knockout.
Vitali has yet to lose since his comeback just over a year ago and has stopped his last four opponents. He will box for the English title in Rotherham on October 10.
The night before Vitali’s success, Alex Dovell travelled to Torquay in the Devon, Dorset and Cornwall final of the senior development championships.
He met a good opponent in Brad Riggs of Tiverton but put up a great battle before losing out on points.
The first two rounds were nip and tuck with Dovell putting the work in and Riggs sneaking eye-catching counters.
Riggs had a big third round, landing some clean right hands and flurries of punches.
