TWENTY Nippers from Bideford Bay Surf Lifesaving Club were in action at the British Ocean Surf Lifesaving championships in Portreath.
Some fine individual performances and personal achievements helped the club to gain ninth position overall, out of 23 teams.
With the first 16 across the finishing line gaining points it was not just the medal winners who contributed to the overall position of the club.
Medal winners were: Wade - bronze, Mia Yelland 10yrs. Board race – silver, Molly Butterworth 8yrs and Olivia Sayer 11yrs; bronze, Rachel Coles 12yrs. 1km run – bronze, Francesca Sayer 9yrs and Nancy Pennington 12yrs. Beach flags – gold, Adam Tobin 10yrs; silver, Jack Jarvis 12yrs; bronze, Sophie Evans 8yrs and Olivia Sayer 11yrs. Beach sprints – gold, Sophie Evans 8yrs, Sam Pyle 8yrs and Jack Jarvis 12yrs; silver, Olivia Sayer 11yrs.
Surf relay – bronze, Holly Coles, Olivia Sayer and Molly Pennington 10/11yrs.
