A 23-strong squad from Grenville College in Bideford came home from the South West Schools Biathlon Championships at Millfield School in Somerset with medals galore.Sixth form boys James Bunney, Sam Petty and Ollie Taylor won their team event, with James also first and Sam second in the individual competition.This was the sixth year in succession that Grenville students have won this trophy!Both the boys and girls Year 11 teams came second in their competitions, gaining automatic qualification for the national finals in Bath next spring.The Year 10 boys and girls teams and the sixth form girls all came third. To round off an outstanding day, Grenville's Simon Mathers won the coaches' event.West Buckland School's Year 9 girls team came third and team member Jess Bennett received the medal for the fastest Year 9 run and overall winner of the event. She will now represent the South West in the national event in Bath and has been invited to compete at Crystal Palace in the Schools' World Championships.
