BARNSTAPLE U13s secured a 15-12 victory over Okehampton on Sunday in a hard fought Devon Cup quarter-final. Okehampton took an early lead, but Barnstaple were level by half time.Barnstaple produced some superb rugby in the second half with tries going to Michael Peak, Laurence May and Scott Warren.Barnstaple U11s played their best rugby of the season to beat a previously undefeated Wellington side 30-0.A textbook example of dominant, forward play supplied quality ball for the backs to play some outstanding rugby and score six tries. Try scorers were Barny Meadowcroft, Isaac Hydleman, Bradley Campbell (2) and Sam Roberts (2).In the second match the u11s easily defeated Minehead 30-0. Try scorers were Nathan Squire (2), Hydleman, Alex Savage, Campbell and Zac Davey.The U10s traveled to Minehead to take part in a triangular fixture with the host club and Wellington.Barnstaple's first game was against a big Wellington team who, on a small pitch, ran out 10-0 winners. The second game was against Minehead, in which the Barum lads played their normal fluid game and won 25-0. Tries went to Jon Engelking (3), Jordan Ramsden and William Swales.Barnstaple U8s played two good games against Exeter Saracens, winning one and losing the other.Barnstaple won the first game 30-10 and lost a close second game 25-20. The try scorers in the two games were Callum Choules (2), Jack Whiterod (2), Ross Swales, Kyran McManus, Charlie Hannan, Harry Wilson-Palmer, Charlie Taylor and Stan Wilks.
