Barnstaple Town Women have enjoyed an excellent start to their season in the North Devon Football League, with the recent 5-3 victory over Ilfracombe Town making it four wins from four. 

Beth Ellis scored twice and there were also goals from Rohana Little, Lexus Dryden and Darcey Locke for Barum, who are scheduled for the reverse fixture at Ilfracombe on Sunday, followed by a potential title showdown with Fremington Women. 

It has been a tough start to the season for Bideford AFC Women in the South-West Regional Women’s Football League but also hope for the future, as the Robins looking to nurture their young side. 

After losing a number of players, the Robins have begun a major rebuilding job and continue to learn with every game at an excellent level in the football pyramid. Bideford host Ilminster Town at the Sports Ground on Sunday – kick-off 2pm.
