Torridge and Appledore were joint winners at Barnstaple Pilot Gig Club’s annual regatta on Sunday.
The River Taw took centre stage as crews from across North Devon, Bude and Boscastle raced on the water.
The sprint course for the day saw crews racing from a start line adjacent to Pottington industrial estate to the finish at Queen Anne’s statue on the Stand.
The first race, the men’s A, was comfortably won by Torridge in Will to Win, with Boscastle second and Ilfracombe third.
The Ladies A crews followed, with Boscastle winning, before five junior crews competed in a combined U16 and U14 race. Bude came first, with Barnstaple second, Ilfracombe third and Torridge fourth. Appledore, with the only U14 crew in the race, also took a trophy.
Torridge won both the men’s and ladies’ B crew races, while Appledore took the win in the mixed veterans race.
