BARNSTAPLE Colts put on a good show for new shirt sponsors Charter Vets & Torbridge Vets in the derby clash with Bideford.

Barum led 55-5 at half time and by 10 minutes into the second session it was 65-5.

Merit Table rules only allow a 60-point margin between the teams and once it is reached the game has to end.

The scoring opened on four minutes when Calum Sumners ran well to put Matt Gohl through to score.

Missed tackles let Bideford in for an equalizing try, but that was as good as it got for them.

Barum’s Reece Stacey counter attacked then released Charlie Bishop to run over.

Peter Keighley and Lewis Goss added tries before Bideford had a brief period of pressure.

Lee Casinelli broke out and with continuity of possession Gohl hared in for a second try.

Ben Ward joined the scoresheet, followed by Stacey hacking through for a try.

The final try of the half went to Stacey who buzzed through the defence.

Justin Southam opened the second half scoring, then create a try for full-back Goss. Bishop scored the final try.

Sean East had five conversions in the match.

A short game was played to fill in the time and Barnstaple won that 17-5 thanks to tries from Casinelli, Bishop and Sam Willoughby.

Players who made a big impact in both the games were Calum Sumners, Matt Gohl, Sam Willoughby, Reece Stacey, Ed Harrison and Charlie Bishop.
