Barum lost 22-10 to Cinderford in their last away game of the calendar year

Barnstaple will be targeting a win against visiting Henley this Saturday when they resume the fight for survival in National League Two South.

Barum currently occupy the third drop spot in the division, but are only two points from safety.

Henley are three places and four points ahead of Barnstaple – and beatable as far as Barum are concerned. If Barum do win they have a great chance of moving out of the bottom three. A Redruth win over London Irish Amateurs would do them a favour.

Barnstaple lost 29-10 at Cinderford on Saturday in their final away game of the calendar year.

They trailed 12-0 at the break, despite enjoying plenty of possession and territory in the latter part of the half.

Barum eventually got on the board through a Jordan Petherbridge penalty.

Barum were 22-3 down late in the game when Petherbridge shot over from close range for a try he also converted.
