TORRINGTON Colts lost 31-0 to a well-drilled Barnstaple team.

Torrington's defence in the first quarter was outstanding, with some strong tackling and forward play.

But Barnstaple still found their way to the line enough times to lead 17-0 at the break with tries by Toby Williamson (2) and Jamie Reeves, plus a conversion by Pat Sanders.

The second half saw more impressive defending , with man of the match Ryan Shambrook, making his presence felt.

Barnstaple had to work even harder, despite playing down the slope, but gained further tries by Ash Francis and Rob Elliott, both converted by Sanders.
