ANGLERS were left floundering for big fish in Bideford Angling Club's annual Cyril Petherick competition on the River Torridge .

Matt Druce took the honours with a flounder of 1lb 3 1/2ozs and also took fourth place with another flounder of 14 7/8ozs. Second was P Downing with a flounder of 1lb 1 7/8ozs and third C Matthews with another of 1lb 0 1/2oz.

The junior prize went to J New with a flounder of 5 1/8ozs.

The Bideford club's November rover competition was won by Damian Babb with a wrasse of 4lbs, followed by T Dymond with another of 3lbs 14 1/2ozs. Then came a pack of dogfish.

Third went to R Boon with a dogfish of 2lbs 4 1/4ozs, fourth to P Downing with a bull huss of 7lbs 1 3/4ozs and fifth and sixth to Dick Talbot with dogfish of 2lbs 0 1/4oz and 1lb 15 3/4ozs.
