OPENER Matt Allin hit an unbeaten 81 as Bideford thumped Shobrooke Park by eight wickets in the B Division.Shobrooke's total of 148 all out looked well below par for the Westward Ho! course - and so it proved. They did well to get that many on the board having been 37 for six after an early going over from Pete Waterman (3-30) and Michael Warne (2-39).Bideford new boy Waterman, the former Surrey and Hertfordshire seamer, looks like being quite a handful for B Division batsmen this season.Bideford strolled to victory with nine overs to spare.. Support for Allin came from Will Barrett (19) and Mike Wigley (22).l Barnstaple & Pilton's tail enders held on grimly for a draw at Heathcoat.Sean Cole (2-44) and Steve Moore (2-38) bowled tidily for Barum, but Lee Cole (2-99) took a bit of tap in Heathcoat's total of 255 for eight.Barum were 116 for two with Andy Barton (32) and Brady Saunders (32) among the runs, but once wickets fell to Jack Menheneott (3-22) and Lewis (2-33) the chase tailed off.Barnstaple's last pair blocked out the final eight overs with Ian Wheatley patting back the last one from Paul Elliott (2-40) to secure a draw at 164 for nine.
