A TOTAL of 70 anglers braved wet and windy conditions on Sunday to fish the Cyril Petherick Memorial flounder open hosted by Bideford Angling Club.Keith Owen was rewarded for his efforts with £100 for first place after landing the biggest flattie of the day, a decent fish of 1lb 11 ounces.A silver eel sneaked into second place, the 1lb 9oz fish falling to the bait of S Tithecott, while Carl Fox was able to take third and fourth with near twin flounder of 1lb 5oz and 1lb 4oz .This weekend sees the last North Devon League heat before Christmas, with the weigh- in on Sunday at Bideford's clubhouse at 7.30pm.
