South Molton lead inter-town contest

SOUTH Molton made it four wins out of four in the Inter Town skittles competition with a 288-277 win away to Braunton.

They go into their final match at Bideford this Saturday knowing that a win or draw will guarantee them the championship. Defeat could mean a play-off, depending on how Barnstaple fare in their last game.

In the league, Miners Arms kept their title hopes alive by demolishing last season’s champions Heasley Mill B with a massive 531 total. No fewer than four of their side scored more than 70 - Danny Bain (79), Jed Ash (78), Jan Bain (76) and David Janes (73). But none could beat visitor Alan Tapp, who floored 84, the highest of the week.

However, with Twitchen winning at Bell B, the title is theirs to be lost.

Division 2 still looks like it will go to the wire with over half the division still in with a chance of promotion. But Blue Boys have the edge after winning at Bray B.
