Solid wins for Petroc in football and netball

North Devon Gazette

After a tough couple of results, Petroc travelled to Paignton and secured a 2-1 win over South Devon in men’s football.Â

Petroc had some good chances in the first half but went into the break trailing 1-0 to a lucky goal where the ball ricocheted into the net. In reply, a decent move was finished off very well by Cameron Rowlands, 1-1. Â

The game became stretched towards the end with chances for both sides and it was a last-minute shot from man of the match Cal Lewin that snuck into the top corner to give Petroc the points!Â

It was a lot more comfortable for the netball team, as they crushed Yeovil 77-18 to retain their place at the top of the league.Â

In Pan-disability football, the Rocks travelled to Devon FA HQ for a cup qualifier tournament and by beating Truro 3-1 but then lost out in games with Weston and Plymouth. Â
