Slow start costs the Colts

BIDEFORD Colts paid the price for a slow start at Tiverton, where they went 24-0 down in the first 15 minutes.

Despite hitting back with three tries before the break - Billy Teape and Ben Pearn among the scorers – Biddy had left just a bit too much to do,

The second half was real ding-dong stuff with Tiverton holding on to win 41-39.

Bideford’s Brad Shaw powered over in the corner to get the half started.

The teams then exchanged tries with Chris White adding two for Bideford.

The scores sat at 34-32 to Tiverton, with only five minutes to go, when Teape scorched through from distance to put Bideford in front for the first time at 39-34.

Sloppy defence led to a penalty to Tiverton, who ran over in the corner to level it up. The conversion was difficult but made.

Man of the Match for Bideford was Charlie Russell, closely followed by Chris White, and Billy Teape.
