Six Hitters Club

Joseph Bulmer

NORTH Devon Youth Cricket Association is inviting youngsters who want to give the game a go, to free taster sessions.

The first of the Six Hitters Club sessions is being held for pupils in school Years 1-3 at the Jonathan Edwards Sports Centre at West Buckland School this Sunday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

The NDYCA brings together district cricket in the north of the county and currently has over 150 boys and girls nominated by their clubs attending district training through the winter months at age groups 9 to 15years.

They will represent the North in matches against the East, South and West regions of Devon and from those matches county squads are selected.

NDYCA currently has 31 youngsters playing for Devon. Two have represented the South and South West and another two are currently making their way at Somerset County Cricket Club.

If you are in school Years 1 to 3 and fancy hitting a six, have a go on Sunday!

But if you want to take part, e-mail Mark Overton at mark@bideford.net. in advance to confirm a place.
