Saunton ladies’ section celebrated their 100 years since formation with a 4 BBB team competition over both courses, with two scores to count. All the clubs in Devon were invited to play alongside members of Saunton.

Ladies Centenary 4BBBB: East course - 1, Jane Easterbrook (Churston), Carolyn Maynard (Tiverton), Fran Ford and Debbie Webb (Saunton) 81 pts; 2, Marilyn Gagg, Elaine Kingdon, Audrey Hill and Ilene Allen (Saunton) 77; 3, Vivienne Worthington and Elizabeth White (Exeter) Jess Bradley and Jane Chappell (Saunton) 73. Devon Interclub Scratch Knockout: Saunton beat Libbaton in the first round at RND by 2-1. Jon Squire and Kristian Mowatt beat P Short and S Herniman 3 and 2; Matt Wells and Luke Squire lost to B Stephens and S Raymond 4 and 3; Phil Venn and James Fielder beat C Drew and J Evey 5 and 4 .

Ilfracombe

Banfield Salver: The first 36-hole competition of the year saw Ray Tossell score 45 points to lead after the first round, but fade away in the second, while a consistent Mark Clatworthy notched up 37 pts and 41 pts to take overall victory. Results - 1, M Clatworthy 78pts; 2, J Wooden 75; 3, R Tossell 74.

Thursday medal: 1, Stewart Robinson 72net; 2, Paul Richards 72; 3, Mike Pye 73.

Royal North Devon

Veterans’ Kerry Decanter: Hosted by Derek Fogarty, this competition was played in teams of four, with Pat Bowrey, Ken Danson, Bill Greetham and Graham White winning comfortably. Danson and David Palmer won nearest-the-pin prizes and the host won the longest drive on the 18th.

Roll-up competition: 1, Peter Wilson (27) 38 pts; 2, Dennis Peacock (17) 36; 3, Jeremy Wright (26) 36.

Emerton Court Practice: Played in 4BBB format, there was some very high scoring. Winners, Richard Tuckett and Mike Stacey 47pts; 2, Dave Miller and Alan Mackie 44; 3, Dick Ford and Alec Craner 44.

Inter-club: The spring sunshine shone on the seniors as they triumphed 41/2 to 2 � in a match against the main club.
