Robins are rocked by leaders
Bideford beaten 5-2 at home to Sholing
Bideford were outgunned by unbeaten league leaders Sholing in the Southern League on Saturday.
The Robins were beaten 5-2 by the Southampton-based side who opened the scoring on the half-hour mark through Byron Mason.
Things soon went from bad to worse when Steve Orchard limped off with a suspected hamstring injury; within minutes of his departure, the visitors doubled their lead with a deflected Dean Stow effort.
Barry Mason hit the third and fourth before Bideford could reply through Jamie Mudge with 10 minutes left.
Lee Wort added a fifth for the visitors and Matt Hockley grabbed a consolation penalty in the final minute.
There was more bad news for Bideford this week as striker Mudge returned to Conference South side Dorchester Town.
