Right to believe what you want
SIR — Muriel Hodges, a local Methodist preacher, fervently supports councillors being paid by the taxpayer to worship in Christian prayer. I wonder if she supports them being paid to worship in Jewish, Catholic and Muslim traditions –and if not, why not?
SIR - Muriel Hodges, a local Methodist preacher, fervently supports councillors being paid by the taxpayer to worship in Christian prayer.
I wonder if she supports them being paid to worship in Jewish, Catholic and Muslim traditions -and if not, why not? Would she like to see them strip off and hug a tree, Pagan fashion?
Paganism came thousands of years before Christianity and they gaze in wonderment at the concept that God created the world for, if he did, he created a world in which pain and suffering is rife so therefore he must have created pain and suffering.
In observance of their one Commandment: "An' it do no harm, do what you will", Pagans firmly defend Muriel's right to believe whatever she wants but then, so should everyone else.
