Rhinos charge to first win

LANGTREE Re-Unites Rhinos won their first match of the North Devon Netball League season, beating Woolacombe Wolves 33-28.

The young side were new to the league in September, but have steadily gained experience and had some very close matches recently without quite being able to cross the finish line first. This week they were on form and, with Zoe Toop shooting well, secured that elusive victory.

Division 3 leaders Bude Satellites were tested by Reeds Silverside, but maintained a five goal lead and now lead the division by 20 points.

North Devon Homes defeated Carol Anne Golds to keep their title hopes alive, although it will be tough to prevent Bude from scoring the point they need when they face each other at the end of the season.

Venners Bakery Cobras continue to lead Division 2, needing only one point from their final two matches to secure the title.

Carol Anne Amethysts, the only team who could catch Cobras, were given a real challenge by Panthers. Despite being a player short the Panthers only finally lost out by three goals.
