Devon Rangers Shooting Club teams have made three successful visits this year to compete in national and international shooting events on the world famous Bisley ranges, returning with a host of medals.

They gained nine gold medals, six silver and eight bronze at the Phoenix International event and three first places, two seconds and a third in the Trafalgar International.

Gwyn Roberts took five gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the Phoenix meeting. Clive Almond won silver in the percussion pocket pistol at the Imperial meeting and took first place in the vintage carbine at 200 yards and veteran service rifle at 900 yards - over half a mile using open iron sights - in the Trafalgar meeting.

Devon Rangers are a North Devon club sited just outside Braunton with their own private ranges. Members are drawn in mainly from North Devon, but we also from mid and east Devon, Somerset and Dorset.

The club shoots most approved weapons, from modern styles to flintlocks.
