Radio station wins new broadcast licence
The Voice will be back on FM frequency next month.
BARNSTAPLE-based independent radio station The Voice will be returning to FM frequency next month.
The team behind the station has won its sixth Restricted Service Licence (RSL) from media regulator Ofcom.
The temporary licence will enable the station to broadcast on 107.1 FM from March 16 for 28 days. The signal is expected to reach most of Barnstaple, as well as outlying areas including Braunton and Bratton Fleming.
Broadcasts have been restricted to the internet since the last 28-day licence expired in June last year.
Last month, the station moved from its studio on The Square to new temporary studios above 21 High Street. It is still awaiting a decision on its application for a full-time licence.
