New committee members urged to come forward at November 14 meeting otherwise carnival will not go ahead next year.
THE future of Combe Martin Carnival is to be discussed at a public meeting on Monday, November 14 in the Village Hall.
It follows the recent announcement the existing committee is to step down after three years of organising the August event and the meeting will be seeking new committee members to come forward to ensure the carnival continues in 2012.
Outgoing committee chairman Rob Schofield said its members had all enjoyed their time working on behalf of the carnival:
“Even though at times it’s been hard work, the satisfaction in what we’ve helped to achieve is brilliant†he said.
“We’re all passionate about the village with its strong community spirit and we hope new members will come forward to ensure this well-received event continues into the future.
“If they don’t, it is likely the carnival will not take place next year.â€
The meeting will take place at 7.30pm in the Village Hall Annex. Anyone unable to attend who would like to find out more about getting involved can email firstname.lastname@example.org or go through Facebook at www.facebook.com/combemartincarnival.
