Police name woman killed in tractor crash

Family issue tributes to ‘the most amazing, kind hearted and gentle woman that ever lived’

POLICE have named the young woman who died when a vintage tractor overturned near Braunton on Sunday afternoon.

Faye Stockwell, 34, from the Braunton area, was driving the Massey Ferguson tractor, when the incident happened on North Buckland Hill near Braunton just before 3pm.

A passenger, understood to be her mother suffered a suspected broken arm.

The woman’s family have issued the following statement through police: “Faye was the most amazing, kind hearted and gentle woman that ever lived.

“Her family are deeply shocked and left totally devastated by her passing.

“We ask that we be left alone in peace to grieve and come to terms with our terrible loss as a family.”

It is understood the women had earlier been taking part in the South Molton Vintage Rally Club’s autumn tractor run, which started and finished in Barnstaple.

The road was closed for seven hours while an investigation of the scene was carried out.
