Red cards mar Pilton goal fest

TEMPERS flared at Rock Park as Pilton Academicals Reserves put nine past AFC Anchor Reserves on Saturday.

But while a player from each side saw red following a skirmish, the game will be best remembered for the goal onslaught that gave the Accies their second win of the season

Joe Winfield scored two and there were singles for Alex Boreham, Darren Wood, Jonathan Blundell, Shane King and a rare headed goal by Gary Grant. The Pilton lads were also delighted that Matthew Dellar celebrated his recent return from Afghanistan with a goal in his first game back.

Charlie Wickfield scored the only goal for Hartland Reserves in a 4-1 defeat at North Molton Thirds.

Georgeham & Croyde Reserves beat South Molton Res 2-0, while Northam Lions Thirds and Fremington Reserves shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
